Welcome. This app is your personal sacred Tarot Journal. You draw cards, receive a Spirit reading, write your reflections, and save everything to a journal file that lives on your own computer. Nothing is stored online — your readings belong to you. Print this guide before you begin so you have it close by as you set things up.

First-Time Setup — Add Your Spirit Reading Key

The app connects to an AI to deliver your Spirit readings. You need to add your Gemini API key once before Spirit readings will appear.

1. Triple-click the Celtic Knot symbol in the top-right corner of the app to open the Admin panel.
2. Enter the PIN when prompted.
3. Paste your Gemini API key into the API Key field and click Save Settings.
4. Close the Admin panel. Spirit readings will now appear automatically after every draw.

Your key is saved to this browser and only needs to be entered once.

Step 1 — Set Your Journal Folder

Tell the app where to keep your growing journal file on your computer.

1. Look for the button bar just below the navigation tabs at the top of the app.
2. Click 📁 Set Journal Folder.
3. A window will open — choose a folder on your computer. Your Desktop or Documents folder works well.
4. Click Select Folder. The folder name will appear beside the button to confirm it is set.

You only need to do this once.

Step 2 — Restore Session (Every Time You Return)

Each time you reopen the app, Chrome needs one-click permission to access your journal folder again.

1. Open the app in Chrome.
2. Click the ↩ Restore Session button in the bar.
3. Chrome will ask “Allow this site to edit files?” — click Allow.
4. Your journal folder is reconnected and you are ready to save.

Doing a Reading

Choose any spread tab across the top — One Card, Three Card, Safe Passage, Celtic Cross, Six Card, Nine Card, or Daily Draw.

1. Type your question or intention in the text box, or click ✦ Spirit, Pick My Question to let Spirit choose for you.
2. Click the draw button. Each card will zoom to the center of your screen one at a time, then fly to its position on the cloth.
3. Tap any placed card to zoom in and see it up close.
4. Scroll down to see the full card meanings and your Spirit Reading — a personal AI-generated message for your spread.
5. Write your own thoughts in the Your Reflection area below the reading.

Saving Your Reading to Your Journal

After any reading, one click adds it permanently to your growing journal file.

1. Click ✦ Save to Journal in the button bar at the top.
2. Your reading is instantly added to your journal file with today’s date and time.
3. Each new reading always appears above the previous one — your most recent reading is always first.

Printing a Single Reading

1. Click the My Journal tab in the navigation bar to open Print Preview.
2. Click the 🖨 Print This Reading button. Chrome’s print dialog will open.
3. Click More settings → set Margins to Custom:
   Left: 0.75"Right: 0.25"Top: 0.50"Bottom: 0.50"
4. Scroll down and uncheck “Headers and footers.”
5. Click Print. Chrome remembers these settings — set them once per printer.

Downloading a Single Reading as a File

The ↓ Download This Reading button saves a standalone snapshot of your current reading as an HTML file directly to your Downloads folder. This is separate from your journal — it is a one-off file you can open in Chrome at any time and print to PDF.

Use Save to Journal to build your ongoing collection. Use Download This Reading when you want a single portable copy of one reading.

Printing Your Full Journal

Open your Connect-to-Spirit-Journal.html file in Chrome, right-click and choose Print, apply the same Custom margin settings above, and uncheck Headers and footers. Every reading prints on its own page.

Searching Your Journal

When your journal file is open in Chrome, press Ctrl + F to search. Find any reading instantly by card name, spread type, date, or any word from your reflection.
